Vintage Confit Pots were originally used to preserve meats, vegetable and fruit. They were popular in the C19th and early C20th where most French country homes would own confit pots for their own pickling and preserving. This confit pot is now destined to be a utensil holder, vase, planter or decorative object in it's own right.
 
This stoneware confit pot has a beautiful pale natural tonetone and a lovely ridged body with natural blemishes.  It's crack free and watertight making it perfect as a vase.
