This is another one of our trunks which goes onto our favourite list - the layers of worn paint are original and the time-worn patina is beautiful.  The paint effect is something that cannot be created by anything other than time and wear.  It's fabulous.  This chest has a nice shape too making it a perfect coffee table or end of bed storage.  
 
We would describe the colour as black but within the black there are signs of a brown, cream and grey hues.
 
The inside is in a very usable clean condition.  Overall it is in a very nice conditio for age.
 
Definitely one of our favourite chests ever!
