Old handmade black painted carpenter's chest made with oak and pine.
 
We have done very little to this - choosing to leave it in its original condition.
 
The chest itself is made well using pine and oak, presumably carpenter's off cuts.  The handles are made of rope with the ropes slightly different thicknesses on either side.
 
Internally the chest is very clean.
 
Perfect as a coffee table, storage, bedside table......
