This is a very nice antique French desk with a hardwood top and pine legs.  It has fabulous ware that you can only create by use - the bar inbetween the legs demonstrates ware from years work of feet resting on it and around the handles you can see a varying colour in the wood where the handles have been used to open and close the drawers.
 
The desk is in a solid sturdy condition.  It does show signs of wear which we like and which adds to it's character.  There is a mild natural wood crack in the desk top caused by the wood drying out over time.  This crack is very minor and is as you would expect of any antique furniture (see photo of table top) On the inside of one of the drawers there are ink stains.
 
We decided to do very little to this desk in the workshop as it's marks and ware add to it's character.   
 
A very attractive desk suitable as an occassional desk of side table.
